Singapore zoo has left a deep impression on me because it helped me to relax and aroused my love for animals. Though I had a great fun there, because I have seen many different animals from various parts of the world, I could also feel a little sorrowful from my inner heart. That is because sometimes zoos are cruel prisons for some species. Whenever I saw the lovely animals being kept in enclosures, my heart shook and I felt sorry for them. We, humans, sometimes in order to feast our eyes with all these animals, limit their freedom and deprive their right to live in the wild. In this way, they cannot enjoy the fun in the wilderness and lose some nature to hunt as well. It is really a pity not to let them lead happy and natural lives in their habitats but turn them into exhibits.
However, on the other hand, zoos are beneficial for some animals because human activities have destroyed their natural habitats. It is unsafe for them to live in the nature and hard to breed. If such endangered animals live in the zoos, they can be well-cared by zoo staff. Their lives will no longer be a problem and people may help them breed. Through providing them with a comfortable and safe environment to live in and helping them breed, endangered animals may be protected and live for a longer time.
Every coin has two sides. Zoos can be regarded as cruel prisons as well as safe havens for animals. Therefore, we can utilize zoos to protect endangered animals, but protecting their natural habitat or the environment is more important.

woo!! it must be a memorable experience to visit the zoo. i always wanted to go there but couldn't squeeze out the time. how i wish ETON HALL is located in the zoo, hence we can live with the wild animals. it must be fun!
ReplyDeletejust as you said, every coin has two sides, there are both advantages and disadvantages concerning zoo. however, in my opinion, we should rebuild all the zoos into national reserves, as long as we in put more money and effort into it! we should be more friendly to the animals.
In my opinion, zoos have more advantages than disadvantages, especially for endangered animals. Endangered animals have lost some of living abilities in the nature or human beings desire to get benefits from them. Therefore, if we make those endangered animals live in the wild, they may die out more quickly. Zoos will provide a more conductive environment to some extent.
