ShanDong Cuisine

My hometown is ShanDong province. It is also the home of Shandong cuisine, known as lucai in Chinese, which is also one of the “Eight Culinary Traditions” of China.

The cuisine, known for its widely variety of ingredients and cooking methods, mainly comprises two styles: Jinan style ,which encompasses dishes from Jinan, Dezhou, Taian and surrounding regions and is famed for its soup. Jiaodong style, which encompasses dishes from Qingdao, Yantai and other coastal cities, and is characterized by seafood and light flavors.

Here I want to talk about two dishes in shandong cuisine .First, fried carp with sweet and sour sauce. It is one of my favorite dishes belonging to Jinan style. The surface of the fish is very crisp and the interior is very soft. Then, sour fish,a famouse dish of Jiaodong styles. The flavour of this dish is very light, only a little sour and peppery .

In fact,I can not express the chinese cuisine very well because some chinese characters are hard to be translated into English. In my point of view ,the best way to comprehend the cuisine is to taste them by yourself.
