Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country

People are always complaining that their own countries do few helpful things to them. They complain about the polluted air, traffic jam and so on. However, at the same time, they do not realize they almost do nothing for their countries. So we should stop complaining and think the JEK’s words “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.” If you can save some water during the shower, your country will use it to help you when you suffer the droughts. If you can protect green grass, your country will give you a beautiful environment. If … So there are many things you can do for your country and all these things can be easily done by us. After you make a contribution to your own country, you will know your country also do lots of things for you. From now on, stop complaining and try your best to put these “if” into practice. Then you will gain lots of.

  1. 一个民族的落后首先是其精英的落后,而精英落后最显著的标志,就是他们经常指责人民的落后。相似地,当我们指责祖国给予我们太少的时候,我们是否也代表着国家的落后?

  2. I totally agree with you. Before we ask what others can do for us, we are supposed to ask ourselves what we can do for them. This sets us in the position of others and helps us to know and understand others better. I will try my best to do this.

  5. En, I agree with your points. Although we are not in our homeland, we still can do something for our countries. Without the requirements of our country, it is a necessary and positive attitude towards life.
