With the development of science and technology, there will be much prospect of having a robot wife or husband. That sounds surprising and amazing, isn't it? Due to the extraordinary imbalance sex ratio in China, choosing a robot spouse is a better solution to problem. Besides, in other countries which have an aging population, robot spouses can work more effective and help human beings look after the old people without complains. From the perspective of world situation, having a robot spouse is considerable.
Some people may claim that the robots do not have feelings. Definitely, it is true. However, we human beings always want to our spouses to obey to us or change themselves to meet our needs. In the future, there is no need to worry about these with a robot spouse. They are programmed to communicate with our human beings. On the other hand, if they indeed have feelings, will you treat them as servants any more? It is hard to imagine what will happen...
Another problem is the fertility. Apparently, with a robot spouse, one can not have his or her own babies. Nevertheless, you can use gene technology to have a baby. Maybe both man and woman can give birth to a baby with their robot spouse. If one wants to have a robot baby, it is also possible. In that way, fertility is not a problem any more.
The advantages are obvious to us. Robots are reliable and indefatigable. They work hard to satisfy our human beings without complaint. They are not likely to catch a fatal disease and accompany you forever. There is no need to worry about divorce or affaire. The meals are cooked well on the table and the house is cleaned neatly, when you go back home wearily. What a warm and comfortable scene it is...
In my opinion, I would not choose a robot spouse. Although they have a tremendous amonut of advantages, I will not choose them as my spouse. I treasue the real feelings between human beings. Maybe sometimes it is a little sad, but I want the happiness and the sadness together to draw a colourful paper of life. Therefore, I think robot spouse can not fit my taste. What about your options?
In the end, let us wish the robots marriage to have a bright future...

LOL. in my opinion, it is hard to imagine that i have a robot wife!! i admit that some of your views are reasonable, but do you think it obey the ethic?
ReplyDeleteHaHa, it is really an interesting imagination! Yeah, it sounds really amazing to have a robot spouse, but just like you, i do not want to have a robot spouse, either. What really precious between a couple is sharing their sadness and happiness with each other. Even though a robot could do many things for us without any complaint, they can only be regarded as servants not lovers. I prefer a boyfriend who always argues with me to a robot which has no its own opinion!

It is crazy, but interesting idea. Maybe i will choose a human wife and a robot wife at the same time.
