LIE TO ME

Do you believe that ordinary people will say three lies in every 10 minutes’ conversation? It implies that we are living in a world of lies. However, how many of us can realize that we are blindfolded by others? In a drama, the main character has the ability to analyze a person’s face, body, voice and words to detect the truth. It sounds amazing! Today, I want to introduce LIE TO ME to you, a popular American drama series.

LIE TO ME is the compelling drama series inspired by the scientific discoveries of a real-life psychologist who can read clues embedded in the human face, body and voice to expose the truth and lies in criminal investigations. Dr. Cal Lightman is the world's leading deception expert. If you lie to Lightman, he'll see it in your face and your posture or hear it in your voice. Lightman heads a team of experts at The Lightman Group who assist federal law enforcement, government agencies and local police with their most difficult cases. Dr. Gillian Foster is a gifted psychologist and Lightman's professional partner who brings balance to the partnership by looking at the bigger picture while Lightman focuses on the details. He needs her guidance and insight into human behavior, whether he knows it or not.

You may be curious about how can they reveal the lies. For example, if the criminal suspect shrugs his shoulders, rotates his hand or even just slightly raises his lower lip, Lightman will be conscious of it and spot the lie. By analyzing facial expressions and involuntary body language, he can read feelings ranging from hidden resentment to sexual attraction to jealousy.

Perhaps, most of us admire Lightman’s special ability, but for himself, his scientific ability is both a blessing and a curse in his personal life. We can imagine that if everyone can penetrate others’ thoughts, how will the world be? Maybe that will be a world that is full of suspicion. Probably, it is better to be an ordinary person.

It is really a wonderful drama, and I hope you will love it.

  2. I agree with you. If the world is full of suspicion, I would rather be an ordinary person. Trust is important between persons. I think we should tell the truth.

  3. Wow! It sounds like a wonderful and interesting drama and I am eager to watch it!!!
It is really fantastic to own the ability of detecting what others are thinking about. However, as you say, we will have much trouble if everyone has such ability. In fact, many lies are just white lies which are kind and harmless and help life become smoothy. But i still hope we can try our best to keep honest. ^_^

  4. haha~~what an interesting drama!!
i am curious about such kind of ability, but i don't want to have the ability to read others' minds. it may also cause a lot of trouble. sometimes it is good to live in a world with lies. and don't forget the white lies, which is out of kindness.
