Truman or Audience?

   In the film The Truman Show, Christof once said to Truman:" There's no more truth out there than there is in the world I created for you. Same lies. The same deceit. But in my world, you have nothing to fear. I know you better than you know youself."
   How scary it must be when a man has no personal secret to at all! But unfortunately, in our real lives, especially for the past few years, a lot of Trumans have been created. What's worse, what astonished me most is that not only have the creators been busy with digging out new talented and valuable Trumans, but also those Trumans have been happy with their show in the created world.
   How could it be possible, for us clever human beings? Obviously, no one can deny that our society is a well developped and highly civilized world. On the other hand, however, the contemporary society is a essentially material, which is filled with vanity, bustle and snobbery. To our great shame, we even could not remember when we last sat down, having a cup of tea, with a calm and peaceful mind. Sometimes we feel breathless about the crowds, pressure and noise outside. All of these modern phenomenon contribute to naissance of a special industry- trueman show.
   From this kind of TV show program, people can not only find some entertainment for their boring spare time, but also satisfy their selfish dersire of snooping into the lives of public figures. Once this kind of dersire is satisfied, people may begin to take it for granted, thus spending more time on the trueman show, which in turn stimulate the development of this kind of TV show program. In other words, the producer is encouraged by the audiences, and the audiences seek satisfaction from the producer. This vicious circle started with a tiny point, which included the very first curious audience and the very first creative producer, but has been extending rapidly, even crazily like the black hole, magnetizing numerous audiences, producers, as well as Trumans.
   Maybe to some extent the world is becoming more crazy, but there is something that all of us should not ignore-human rights. As for trueman show, it no doubts infringes the actors' privacy. No matter how developed our society is, we should respect the basic human rights all the time. Otherwise our society can only become more materially prosperous, rather than more civilized.
   So do respect the basic human rights, and the right of privacy is no exception, for the sake of both yourself and others.
