The world we live today is a thirsty world. The water crisis is coming close to us. It is a fact that water resources nowadays are very limited.
According to an investigation, only 0.8% of water on the earth is fresh water that can be drink by us. But most of the water cannot be exploiting by human, like the ice sheet. Only one third of the water can be use by us. But what makes the matter worse is that even we only have so little water to exploit, we ignore the difficult situation. Many rivers, like Yangzi River, yellow river have been badly contaminated by industrial effluents and harmful chemical substances. Now that the situation is becoming more and more serious, we have to take it seriously.
Firstly, we can popularize water-saving methods like drop irrigation to reduce agricultural and industrial consumption of water. Secondly, water recycling system should be constructed in order to turn some waste water into fresh water, like the ‘new water’ in Singapore. Thirdly, the governments should educate their citizens to be aware of the severe condition. If all of the people in the world realize the importance of saving water, the world will be better. It’s our duty to save the thirsty world with our efficient actions.
